Week 49 - 2024¶
📊 Business¶
Not too many news to share here, but things are moving forward! As you can see in the performance section, we have 5 weeks where we are above the FG (billing rate) target of 82.1% - This is very good, showing we are on the right track! Well done - and thanks for the great effort from all of you!
Andrey also came up with a lead towards Kolumbus, who are interested in hearing what we are doing for AppSec and the competence Bouvet can provide in this field. This is important and a classic way of how Bouvet grows organically. It also highlights a very important part of being a consultant, namely picking up leads that can lead to more sales for Bouvet. This was probably much more prominent earlier, when the majority of consultants were sitting together with the client at their locations. Now that many of us are sitting in our own locations, we might have to find other ways to pick up such leads, since we can't meet the customers by the coffee machine at their premises. If you hear anything that you think can lead to new business with your client, feel free to let us know so we can follow up on this.
Regarding AppSec, I have previously mentioned that we've assisted a Swedish client with setting up their Snyk tenant, importing the code base, and helping them get started with SAST. In this regard, we have purchased 10 licenses for Snyk, which we want to use for other clients. If your project is not utilizing SAST, please let us know so we can investigate if this is of interest to the client. All projects should/must have a relationship with AppSec and should/must have a tool that scans code dependencies for vulnerabilities.
🫄🏽 People¶
Lucija started this week in one of the OTS teams together with Tommy, where she will assist in developing the product. It's especially nice that one of our own is helping her get started 🙌. Jan Eirik, who is at SFF, is stepping up as the team lead for the team, which includes several Bouvet members. Their product was an old Java application, which they are now rewriting completely from scratch, with NextJS being central. It’s an exciting product where the customer believes their customized ERP product is crucial for the success of the products they deliver.
As you probably have noticed, there is a recruitment campaign, where we are looking for skilled candidates with a few years of experience. The article mentions a minimum of 5 years of experience, but if you know someone with somewhat less >=3, I would encourage promoting them as well.
This week, I have issued an offer to an experienced developer and am excited to see whether the candidate signs. The person has 7 years of experience and would be a great contribution to our unit. Hoping for more signings throughout 2025!
Wish you all a relaxed weekend!
