Week 47 - 2024¶
👩🏼💻 New Assignments¶
As you know, a new business area covering "AI, Data, and Architecture" (ADA) has started. See the message from Bjarte Gudmundsen link. In Lambda, Andrey has had several assignments involving dataengineering and has strong knowledge related to the topics in the new business area. Therefore, Andrey will be transferred to ADA, as this new area will host competence which is more inline with his own and future ambitions. Thank you Andrey for your contributions to Lambda and good look in your future endovours. The transfer will be effective from 1st January.
In connection with the new business area, a new unit leader for the Architecture unit is being sought. There are opportunities for those who want to try their hand at the role of leader. See this link for the position..
🙋🏽♀️ Recruitment¶
To increase MFO in the unit, one of the most important keys is number of employees in the unit. Knowing that two colleagues will be leaving early next year, and with the move of Andrey, we need to recruit 7-8 people next year to reach an ambition level of 25 employees. Experience teach us that this is very challenging. Therefore, we need all the help we can get from employees who have tips about people who might fit into Bouvet and our unit. Please give us a heads-up, if you know someone looking for a job as a developer.
🦉 Fagråd¶
Earlier this year, Bouvet established "Fagråd" in the various FOs. In our FO (System Development 2), we held a "Fagråd" today where the topic was the use of AI in SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle).
Several developers have already started to become familiar with technologies that can help them in the process, but there is still much to do to expand the use of this. This "Fagråd" was primarily to gain more insight into usage, whether it adds value, which tools are used, missing guidelines, compliance issues etc.
A survey was conducted among our employees about the use of AI. 96 people responded to this, so not a huge sample, but several good comments came out of the survey. The results will be shared soon.
🔐 Monthly AppSec Caffeine¶
Approximately every month, a gathering related to AppSec or cybersecurity in general is held. This is open to everyone, and we gather physically in Townhall and on Teams.
In the gathering, we have a short lecture (20 minutes), news related to cybersecurity (20 minutes), and we always end with a quiz with a prize. There is room for many more from our unit and generally from all units in Bouvet. The topic of security when developing solutions for our customers has not become less important and will certainly not become less important in the future. There are opportunities here to have a meeting point to learn, experience, and get to know how others think and implement security in development.
The next and last AppSec Caffeine for 2024, is 19th December - link.
🎅 Christmas Breakfast¶
On Monday, November 25th at 08:00, registration for this year's Christmas breakfast opens. A nice tradition at Bouvet, where we gather for a good breakfast with a Christmas atmosphere and theme. Links to events:
