Week 41 - 2024¶
Not much to share this week, as I have tried to take a break in the sun further south for the past two weeks (Week 39-40). But autumn is here, and there is a lot happening ahead. Next week is Stavanger's first developer conference, #HelloStavanger, where we are a volunteer organization that has kicked it all off. I will be working with the conference from Tuesday to Thursday as an independent volunteer in my own free time (I am taking these days off, except for Tuesday, which is under Bouvet's direction - setting up their area at the conference).
👩🏼💻 New Assignments¶
Kolumbus has a project named "ATL" (Automatisk Trafikk Kontroller) that Bouvet was involved in during the initial phase, which they later put on "hold". Now they are restarting the project, and Andrey has been chosen to be part of this team at Lambda. Very nice for us and exciting tasks for Andrey. As I understand it, an ATL is a digital replacement for those who coordinate bus traffic - i.e., the flow of traffic, so that buses do not pile up at stops, arrive on time, etc. Exciting to see what they can achieve with all the data they have on traffic to coordinate this.
Joachim and Karyna are getting new tasks in a team at Equinor named "Data Risk & Compliance Team". The tasks the team performs are risk assessments of solutions that Equinor puts into production, assessing the solution and data concerning privacy and compliance with other requirements. The team wanted someone with more technical capabilities, especially in cybersecurity, which they have. Not directly related to AppSec, but it is within the breadth of cybersecurity. An experience worth taking with us as we mature services within AppSec further.
For the SFF delivery, where Jan Eirik is involved, the team is increasing its QA and UX/UI capacity. Bouvet has submitted candidate proposals to the team, and we are eagerly awaiting feedback. This team is growing larger now, with more Bouvet resources, which is nice for us. Exciting project with a modern tech stack.
😎 Summer interns¶
There will also be summer interns here next year, and we will start next week to go through applications. Clearly, the recruitment of summer interns has slowed down somewhat, as the market demands more senior competence. We will still have summer interns and have some newly recruited in the pipeline. Always nice to be able to offer students a place to develop in the summer, which is good for them but also good for Bouvet's brand.
