Week 35 - 2024

Happy Friday!

😷 COVID

It was a short week for me as I had a "cozy time with COVID" at the beginning of the week. Fortunately, it is a mild form now, so the recovery experience is faster.

💹 Market activities

Regarding new offers, Bouvet is working on winning contracts with:

• Kolumbus (ATL - automatisk trafikk leder). Exciting tasks that will consist of a team of at least 5 people.
• Bouvet also has an offer with AkerBP, which is looking for cybersecurity expertise.
• In addition Bouvet is trying to win more positions with Equinor for data engineer expertise, as well as several developers in the amplify team.
• At Innovasjon Norge, there is a need for backend developers, where Bouvet has sendt some proposals.

There are quite a few movements in the market. A typical trend now, which has lasted for a while, is that the demand for senior expertise is greater. This is probably because the market is a bit calmer or more normalized, and then several customers think they will get more out of having a team of seniors, instead of personnel who are at the beginning of their careers. I don't quite agree with this, which is also a debate in various forums. There are many skilled developers at the start of their careers, who I think many customers could get good value from using, and not least at a lower cost. It will be exciting to see how this develops throughout the autumn and into the winter.

📆 Regional meeting + BouvetOne

Now we are planning for the regional meeting and BouvetOne on October 24th. Follow the channels on Slack, as it will soon be possible to submit proposals for presentations @ BouvetOne. I hope there will be more contributions from us in the unit! We continue to focus on strong professional focus and sharing culture! - BouvetOne Event - Submit proposals for talks
