Closing of the month and week 18

This week is closing of the month and week 18 in our accoutning systems! Thus we need to finalize hours for both April month and Week 18 today (2nd May). This is important to rember, as it has direct impact of invoicing our customers!

👬 Profession / Fag

Next week starts the "maiFAGmaraton" which lasts the entire month of May! It will be exciting to see how professional contributions throughout the month will work. Many are contributing with a good breadth of talks that show a fantastic willingness to share experiences among our employees. Check out the sessions and which one you want to listen to while you munch on your lunch. All talks are available at event.bouvet.no - search for "maraton".

In our FO (System Development2), there are now some ambassadors who will arrange monthly professional coffee gatherings for frontend development. Built on the same pattern as "AppSec Caffeine". They will set up a series of such events on event.bouvet.no, which will include news, lectures, and possibly quizzes. Great that they are taking the concept to other professional areas as well! This means that we open up more of the gatherings (fagkaffe) that have been more closed or reserved for a few units. This is in line with the ambition to see professional development across the FO as mentioned at our team-building. We have an expectation that this will also come to the professional areas that cover the backend part of the discipline.

HelloStavanger - I have bought 5 tickets to the conference HelloStavanger coming up in October. We will do a draw to determine who gets these when we meet for the business unit meeting in June!

🫄🏽 People / Folk

No news about new recruitments going forward. The influx of experienced developers is somewhat less now than before, but there are some drops that get offers. For Lambda, I am slowing it down a bit now until after the summer, so that we can increase the billing rate (FG - Faktureringsgrad) in the unit before we take another round of recruitment. The goal is still to reach 25 people. After Brage left us in April, we are 22 people. Thus the goal is within reach.

📈 Business / Forretnig

In the coming two weeks, Lambda will carry out its first penetration test assignment for a smaller customer. Thomas and Joachim will be at the forefront of the assignment. It will be a good experience for us, both the execution but also how we handle such assignments in practice. The assignment is not a "gold mine" financially, but more an investment for us to gain experience in execution.

It is also mentioned in the corridors that AkerBP has hinted at a larger assignment that will replace one of their commercial (off-the-shelf) solutions they are not satisfied with. So far, it looks like they want to develop a solution themselves. The positive here is that they are already mentioning it to us at Bouvet, which shows that we have strengthened our position as a system development provider at AkerBP. This is thanks to the success WISE has given us. This is a classic Bouvet way to grow, that through action shows that we master the tasks and are given more trust. The entire growth in Equinor was created in the same way, where one started small and grew to a turnover of several hundred million. We hope this will provide many opportunities going forward.
