Week 07 - 2025¶
🇪🇸 Enhetstur 2025 - Barcelona! (26. - 28.september)¶
As communicated during the team-building event, the "enhetstur" this year will be in September/October. To secure spots, I have now booked a trip to wonderful Barcelona! A city that has a lot to offer culturally, in terms of food, activities, and probably great weather!
Flights and hotel are booked, now we need to fill the days with content, and I'm sure I'll get good help from the social committee!
As you can see below, departure is on Friday at 11:45, so we need to have some compensatory hours in our bank to leave at a reasonable time on Friday!

🫄🏽 People / Folk¶
As mentioned on Slack, we are still hiring. Besides Sara, who started in February 🥳, we now have the following people joining us in March - Velislav, Åsmund, and John. I am still in the process with two more people, and the goal remains to have 25 people in our unit by the end of 2025. All those joining in March have substantial experience from previous employers and projects. It will be great to have more new members bringing valuable expertise to our unit and Bouvet.
📊 Business / Forretning¶
As mentioned to several people, we notice that the market is calmer now. There are many consultants being offered for the incoming assignments, meaning there is a bit more competition than experienced earlier. Therefore, it is important that our CVs are as sharp as possible and describe our competencies as well as possible. If it has been a while since you reviewed your CV, please take a look at it and see other examples if there is anything you should improve. A significant effort has been made to provide tips for CV writing, which you can find here on Min Side - CV Skriving.
For the initiative related to AppSec, we have delivered a offer to AkerBP and are eagerly awaiting their feedback. They have just purchased a bunch of licenses from Snyk (our partner), and they have ambitions to upskill their personnel in AppSec. We want to be part of this, so we will see if they take the bait and if they have the funds to let us join this journey. We have the same initiative towards Kolumbus, and we are also approaching other companies like Tomra, Norsk Helsenett SF, Storebrand, and Hydro. The reason for these specific companies is that Snyk has shared their prospect list with us, i.e., companies they have been in contact with that are interested in using the tools and implementing more AppSec.
The numbers in the unit look good, see the weekly graph. It is important that we maintain our billing rate discipline! Great job - thanks 🙌 for all the effort you put in every week to keep the FG above our target for 2025 - 84%!
👬 Fag¶
A lot is being done around the activities related to "FAG" at Bouvet. Thomas from our team participated in a kick-off meeting about how System Development 2 (our FO) wants to organize the professional efforts going forward. I hope Thomas can share some of this in the future, but in summary, there will be a group organizing professional activities across the FO, and these will be open to all units. I think this is an important initiative, as we know that professional development and culture are important to all of us at Bouvet. Without continuous learning in our disciplines, we also lose market value. So, get involved and engage in Professional Development!
Professionally, BouvetOne is coming up 6th March - remember to sign up and be part of cultivating a culture of sharing and professional growth! It's fantastic that Lambda has submitted proposals for 4 presentations; there is room for more, but it's a very good start. Giving a presentation at BouvetOne is a great opportunity to practice communication skills, which can be used for larger events and stages like HelloStavanger or NDC. We hope to see many more from Bouvet on the HelloStavanger stage and NDC in the future! It's great for personal growth and branding, and great for Bouvet!
