Certifications¶
Bouvet has established a reward model based on completing certifications during one's free time. The model is divided into two levels depending on the complexity of the certification. It is possible to request to take the certification during working hours (ask your leader), but no bonus will be awarded for this. These hours should be recorded as "internal time – competence development" in Current (remember to add a comment).
- Level 1 - Fundamentals (7500,- NOK)
- Level 2 - Advanced/Associate/Professional/Expert (15000,- NOK)

Why certifications¶
A certification is a confirmation that one has satisfactory competence and skills in a specific area. Therefore, a certification is a good way to document your knowledge.
In connection with tenders, certifications are increasingly becoming a requirement from clients. For us as consultants, the certification provides an opportunity to stand out, in addition to increasing our attractiveness in the market. It is also something concrete and tangible to work towards, as opposed to, for example, an online tutorial or similar.
Available certifications¶
A large portion of the certifications are focused on cloud technology, particularly Microsoft Azure. We are also looking into offering certifications in Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS), but for now, Azure is the most used and relevant cloud technology at Bouvet.
If you do not find interesting certifications in the list, you can suggest other certifications to your unit manager.
How to execute¶
Contact your unit manager before starting a certification process. This is to ensure full coordination before beginning the process.
You can take the exam both physically and digitally, depending on the provider you choose. For example, you can take the exam at Glasspaper in Forus.
The exam fee is paid by Bouvet. Submit an expense claim in Current to get the cost reimbursed.
Once the certification is passed, send an email to your unit manager with a copy of the certification certificate. They will then register the bonus with Payroll, and the payment will be made within the following month.
